Nechay was founded with one mission — to bring the authentic flavours of Ethiopia and Eritrea to the world, without compromise.
Nechay was born from a simple frustration — living in Europe and being unable to find authentic Ethiopian spices that tasted like home. The berbere in European stores was a pale imitation. The shiro had the wrong ingredients. The coffee was stale. So we decided to fix it by going directly to the source.
We work directly with small-scale farmers and artisan producers in Tigray, Yirgacheffe, Addis Ababa, and Asmara. No middlemen. Every product is stone-ground, sun-dried, and hand-packed using generations-old recipes. We pay our producers fairly — well above market rates.
Products are packed in food-grade airtight packaging in Ethiopia, customs-cleared, and shipped worldwide via DHL Express and Ethiopian Post. Every order includes full tracking, a certificate of origin, and an invoice. Minimum order is 20 kg to ensure the best value for both you and our producers.
If you are not completely satisfied with any product, we will replace it or refund you — no questions asked. We stand behind every gram we sell. Our reputation is built on the quality of what is inside the packaging, not the packaging itself.
